I think the more traditional spelling 'Michaela' is visually more attactive. Also the spelling you have chosen opens the door for the nickname "Mak" or "Kayla"...not sure how you feel about nicknames but I don't care for it much, definately not "Mak".
Ultimately it is a fine name and your call, this is just my opinion.

Michaela is a nice name. But "Makayla" and all the other blatant misspellings just suck the class right out of it, I'm afraid. So regarding "Makayla" -- I don't think much of it, to be honest.

That was my great grandmother's name, she was born in 1866. It is beautiful and is still popular today since the rebirth of the name from Dr. Quinn, Medicine Women.

Yeah it is cute but its become kind of comman. I used to love the name alexis but that is extremely over used. But Mckayla is very cute.
