I am thinking of saving for it cuz i gota a 8600 gts oc bought it for 199 like two months ago but i regret it so much cuz the 8800 gt came out and almost the same price...... couldnt return it . sucks

You can't stop technology but you must do your home work thoroughly. Is you card a 256 or 512 MHZ some times you can get and older card say 512 MHZ for $200.00 and the new one 256MHZ for the same price . The 8600 is a good card don't be disappointed it will work fine. Have fun.

Your answer is *wrong* and unhelpful. He was to know if the new, g92 based, 8800GTS has a single slot cooler. You are talking about the 8800GT.

Dear god. You are talking about memory sizes. They are in MEGABYTES, not MEGAHERTZ, and do NOT determine the speed of the card. Its just like a computer - you can have 8GB of ram, but if you have a 500mhz processor, its still not gonna run XP very well. You seem to be one of the stupid people who by cards based on memory size - and the reason they are coming out with an 8600 with 1GB. This card will have no advantage over a 8600 with 512MB, but stupid people like you will buy it because it they think it will be better than an 8800GTX since it has more memory, even though an 8600 could not possibly make use of 1gb of memory. And FYI, the "512mhz" cards you are buying for the same as the "256mhz" cards are worse than the "256mhz" card.
That said, I would like an *actual* answer to this question as well, since I don't have extra expansion slots and if the 8800GTS isn't single slot I will be forced to get a 8800GT.
