Many iron supplements are difficult to digest and the binders in them can cause a reaction, yes. I have to take something called 'chelated' iron to be able to digest it properly, myself. Stop taking them for now.

Go ahead and stop taking it for now. I had to quit taking my prenatals for my first preg. because of the iron. It made me so much sicker than I already was. Most of the time, they can find other ways to make up for it, or simply just decide you don't need it. Every doctor or caretaker is different, much as every patient is different. Good luck, though!

i would stop taking it for now, until your next visit when you can talk to your doctor, and in the meantime visit http://www.webmd.com and see what that says....and go from there. there's no reason for you to be in pain, if you're not feeling good taking them then the chances are that your baby isn't liking it either and for the best of both worlds, until you know what's going on i would stop....hope that this helps!

That is a normal reaction to iron pills they are harsh. It is not an allergy, just a reaction. Take it with vitamin c for better absorption.

I couldnt take it when I was pregnant after I was in my 3rd trimester.

You dont have to take your prenatal at this point, you can take a childrens chewable, like a flintstone. It has enough iron in it. Or you can just not take any and eat fortified foods, like cereal.

I would try switching brands. There may be something in there that is not agreeing with you..I use just black strap molasses..Its absorbed really well and has none of the side effects.
