I made a piñata out of paper mache'. One problem: I forgot to 'grease' the balloon before sticking on the newspaper. Now that it is drying, I noticed and I was wondering if the piñata will still turn out alright?

You're supposed to grease the balloon? I never do and mine turn out alright. Just make sure to use a few layers of paper mache and that it's all completely dry before you pop the balloon.

The balloon is more likely to stick inside the pinata when you pop it though so make sure you hold on tight so get it all all, especially if the pinata is for little kids to use. You don't want them getting a piece of balloon in their mouths thinking it's candy.

It probably will, but it's possible that the balloon could stick to parts of the papier mache and distort it while drying. You might keep an eye on it as it's drying and gently try to free or cut the ballooon anyplace it's stuck so it won't do that.

Actually, when I made volcanos once over balloons (top half of balloons anyway), don't think I used a release either; can't remember though .... my papier mache was fairy thick though so that may have been why it was able to resist the pull of the balloon where it had stuck?

Good luck,

I think so, just make sure that the pinata is completley dry when you take out the balloon.
