I would not have sex again until you have had an ultrasound. The same thing happened to me, and I ended up having placenta previa (when the placenta implants too low, on or touching your cervix). I was not able to have sex throughout the rest of my pregnancy.

i have this problem, i am not pregnant but it could happen while pregnant.. what i have is a friable cervix and since pregnancy cause the cervix to soften it could be more apparent when you are pregnant. you cervix is tender to touch and the intercourse could have aggravated it. a friable cervix is an inflammed or tender cervix, pap smears, intercouse, or any other contact with the cervix will aggravate the area and cause you to bleed. on thing i can say is defiantly go to the ER, it is probably nothing to worry about but just to be safe. if you were having a miscarriage or had a tear you would be having cramping as well.

My doctor explained to me that when you are pregnant the blood vessels that cover your cervix are larger than normal and because of them holding so much blood they are likely to pop during intercourse or something of this nature.
Talk to your doctor just in case but I hope that calms your fears.

Sometimes you do bleed during and after intercourse and you even cramp after intercourse but you should still go get it checked out just in case.
