Is it safe for my budgies? Is it safe enough to sleep with closed windows at night? I am afraid to go to sleep and never wake up again from carbon monoxide poisoning, as well as my budgies/parakeets, as I was once close to dying due to that, but my utility gas and electric company recommends to close any windows or doors to conserve heat and energy inside your home during winter. I am paranoid to sleep with closed windows if I have a heater on, unless I want to sleep and freeze at night. Please advice. My heater is very good at warming up the room (BIONAIRE Model BH3950)

Well, it's electric right? It heats the oil up in a sealed system, and radiates heat. There is no combustion, therefore, no carbon monoxide discharge. Relax, close the windows, it's safe.

I assume the heat source is electric, and in that case, lacking any flame or combustion, there is no carbon monoxide produced.

Since no fuel is being burnt, there is no carbon monoxide. You are using radiant heat.
