Theres no passion i believe from the current crop of players...all they are interested in is there flash cars and birds. Steve McClaren hasnt got a clue, a huge overhaul of the team is needed. I say we export the entire england team to madagascar like hitler wanted to do with the jews and get some hungary young players in who will give 100%. what you reckon everyone? Also is it right that Lampard is constantly booed at matches, this is no way to help a player produce the skills that he is capable off, we see week in week out what he is capable of at chelsea, this crap has to come to an end or we are never going to see the true frank in the white of england

I agree with all your points. The booing of Lampard doesn't help him become the Frank Lampard we see at Chelsea when we need him to be. But with regards to the England team, it's a bit confusing. The passion has to come from the manager. Look at José Mourinho. He had passion and that passion was passed onto nearly every player on the Chelsea team. He had ambitions as well, which Steve Mclaren I don't think has. And let's not forget about what they said when hired him: "we want somebody to take us in a new direction" (not the exact words but you get the point).

But here's the thing - who was assistant to Sven? Yeah you guessed it, Steve Mclaren. Sven's assistant when he was at Lazio (I forget his name) said that whenever plan A failed Sven didn't have a plan B. If Sven carried that mentality over to the England national team then who do you think got handed the responbility of coming up with plan B? Yep that's right Sven's assistant, Steve Mclaren.

People can talk about players being tired because of all the fixtures there are nowadays, but let's not forget the science of football e.g. sports fitness, has evolved significant over the past two decades so now you have players like Steven Gerrard who will run over 13,000 metres per game.

Also why do England always go for the 4-4-2? Why not change it and play a 4-3-2-1, with Lampard and Gerrard playing just behind a lone striker with a holding midfielder (e.g. Hargreaves) and two wingers behind them?

There are good, young English players coming through as well. The pundits know shitall about young English talent. Gerrard, Lampard, even Gary Neville, weren't world-class when they were 18,19,20. Sure Rooney was world-class by the time he was 18 (some would argue he was world-class before that), but not everybody is like Rooney. You got players like Stuart Downing, Lee Cattlemole, Aaron Lennon, Tom Huddleston, hell even Moses at the U17 level, who are good players who have potential to be world-class. Sure they need playing time to become world-class, but they have to show they want to play by training hard.

For example, I watched a programme on Brazilian football a while ago and the presenter of it was shocked to see the Brazilian players of the national team training even AFTER the official training had ended. Sure many of them were practising for the fans who there watching (something that doesn't happen over here in England for some strange reason), but the fact that they chose to work on their skills instead of going home or doing something else just shows why the Brazil can produce some many world stars. Because their players work and work and work at their skills, trying to perfect them in every possible way. Ronaldinho didn't become the player he is now by playing Pro Evo on his PS3 or Xbox, now did he?

What do you mean by passion? Running your b*ll*cks off? Try doing that in the searing heat of Brazil, or the humidity of Russia next time round. Kicking lumps out of opponents? Didn't Holland try that in the 2010 final?

And as for players 'only' being interested in money and flash cars: well, haven't the Germans and Argentines got those too? And aren't they just as well paid, or even better?

Sorry, you're just looking for easy targets. The problem with the England team won't just be solved by Little Englanders thinking up quick fixes.

Well you all seem to suggest that England has some of the world's best players (I together with FIFA and UEFA disagree - name one please) playing for some of the world's best clubs (I together with UEFA disagrees) but what if this is all true and you wonder why thus hasn't translated to the national team and I happen to agree with that then the answer is certainly with the FA which is the common denominator. They certainly serve the clubs (by looking only at financial advantages - more and more matches) and the players (of these greedy clubs by not creating equal opportunities for young players) at the expense of the English squad. In fact the only instance where the tail doesn't wag the dog here is in the choice of managers. Surely our high and mighty Prem team managers can lend a helping hand to our beleaguered FA.

I think we've got some of the best players in the world the fans need to get behind the team like the Brazilians do.

With players like Terry, Gerrard, Lampard and Rooney in the side and the fans fully supporting the team we can win things.

I don't agree with booing our own players ,I would never do it even if we played crap, unless we get rid of McClaren first it's not even worth trying to sort out the mess we're in as he is 60% of the problem, he's not even fit to be a premiership manager let alone our national side.

There is no problem with the team. The problem is with the fans and the media who think you are better than you are. Reaching a quarter final of a tournament is a major achievement - not a failure

Dont presist with the failed lot bring players who will be playing for the next 6,7 years bring them now and dont meddle with them. they will atleast play with passion if they lack abit of class.
