Question 1
a/b = c + x
x = a/b - c

Question 2

1) x = a/b + c
2) a = b - bx
b - a = bx
so, x = (b-a)/b ,or alternatively x = 1 - a/b

1) add x to both sides, then subtract c from both sides
a/b=c+x
a/b-c=x

2)divide both sides by b
a/b=1-x
subtract 1
a/b-1=(-x)
divide both by negative 1
(a/b-1)/-1=x
simplify
a/(-b)+1
