It varies from person to person, and while it's true that many women with PCOS do have difficulties conceiving, there are plenty of women out there that have had children after being diagnosed. The best thing you can do is talk to your doctor and find out what you can do to try and limit the effect of this disease on your body. Have a blood test to check your hormone levels, glucose and cholesterol, and that will give your doctor a great idea as far as what types of treatment may be needed. Make sure your doctor supports the PCOS diagnosis though, as there are many out there that would rather believe it's something else. There are also many things you can do yourself to improve symptoms and increase your chances to conceive. There are tons of sites out there to inform you more on PCOS (google it...you'll be amazed what comes up) but I think they will all tell you the same thing...fertility varies from person to person with PCOS. Good luck!

I have it and I saw your answer and I couldn't leave without answering your question, I am here to help everyone with pcos out to the fullest, I am 19 years old and yes I started having sex early as 16 (unproteced) and never got pregnant, after ttc for so long and never got pregant I visit the dr in April of this year, so I must say between then and now I've learn a bundle of pcos so lets get started.
Some ladies who have pcos and are able to conceive without meds I call real lucky , these one can have every single symptoms of pcos and conceive in least then 3 months on their own.
Then you have some that I call just lucky who conceive on clomid and metfromin in the 1st 3 months.
If you are trying to get pregnant the first thing you should do is visit your dr. ask him about the pill Metformin because it helps regulate your cycle, I am currenlty taking the pill and believe me it has work miracles for me, I went from a wack cycle to having a reguler every month cycle, its better then being on the pill because the pill avoids pregnancy, if you don't conceive on metformin in the 1st 3 months your dr, would applied clomid with it so you can ovulate, these to pills work miracle.
Remember you can get pregnant with pcos but It'll take alot more time to conceive then a reguler couple, all you need is the help from fertility med.
Baby dust to you

PCOS is slightly complicated. It does take an prolonged term to get pregnant by using PCOS yet in maximum situations organic being pregnant is on the marketplace. whether in uncommon situations PCOS is so severe fertility remedies are necessary. To be honest you have not been attempting to conceive long adequate to enhance any purple flags. you need to circulate on your gyno and ask for Clomid. Clomid is a drug it quite is many times used on sufferers with PCOS to get the menstrual cycle activated. this is many times very effective. counting on coverage this is totally inexpensive too. I even have Cigna and paid 50$ for Clomid while in comparison with the 375$ an uninsured guy or woman might pay. I additionally recommend daily excersice by using fact that PCOS is annoyed by potential of better weight. stable success.

It is highly possible with drugs such as Metformin. Really, one of the most important things that will help you if you have PCOS is if you lose excess weight. If you are able to have a normal BMI, the more likely you will get pregnant. Good Luck! Exercise and Diet and keep trying!

It can happen, it's usually just a bit harder and takes more time. Talk to your doctor and she can give you meds to help, but you definitely want to be on the pill until you're ready to get pregnant. It helps regulate your cycle, as much as that's possible with PCOS.
