No. Your imagination is a perfect and wonderful gift which must be cherished. You can use techniques to provide it with more room to show its depth and variety.

If there is a Hotalings or other International Magazine store anywhere near you familiarize yourself with it and its offerings. As an American I will occasionally pick up Paris Match. While it's changed somewhat since that scandal where the Editor was fired for publishing pictures of Sarkozy's wife, it provides a look at a world I don't see. My French is close to non-existant. It is good enough to read most of the articles, but that is precisely not the point. I look for names I'm not familiar with. I study their pictures I look on the internet for other references to them or for things which catch my eye. In other words I am using it very superficially to provide my imagination with more material to cook together. MacLeans from Canada is more like Newsweek or Time but it also provides me with different perspectives.

The library is also great. There is no such thing as a "better" library. Small ones are as likely to have amazing finds as bigger ones. Don't be ashamed to look at childrens books. I'm not just talking Harry Potter or Phillip Pullman (though the former has a lot of traditional folklore in it and the latter uses many many motifs it is worth investigating). Among picture books you will still find classics by Ezra Jack Keats like the Snowy Day or Taro Yashima such as Crow Boy or Momo's Kittens. If you did read them when you were little read them again.

And of course take lots of walks. Whenever you can. The problem with cars is they really structure how you relate wherever you are. Do these and you will find that you are enjoying your imagination more. You will not, however "improve" it because it is perfect and wonderful as it is.
;-)

There are a number of books in the arts and culture section in book stores that could be of much used to you, there are many cheap ones on the market. They offer thinking exercises and ways to expand on the creativity and imagination you already have. also keeping a journal of your thoughts, scrap books and mood boards will also so the same thing. so no need to go and splurge a bunch of so called "classics" you will be inspired by all different sorts of media, just put your mind to it and hopefully you will find what you're looking for.

start with an object/idea, say, a mirror, then imagine what it looks like, this will improve your visual imaginative skills, then try and think about what the object's, in this case the mirror's, story is. This will improve your deduction skills and add more depth to your imaginative skills. But above all, just day dream. day dreaming stretches your imagination to the best of its ability. You will improve far more if you day dream (do it on a long car journey) than you will doing anything else. Oh, and read lots of story books, those will help you absorb imaginative material!!

Oh no no no!! dont make a mistake.
Scientists say that yes, as you grow older... your Imagination eventually dies out. [thats why you think playing with a doll is silly when your older!!] but, i belive this is wrong.

I mean come on, Imagination is what made this world. Some imagined it to be this way. AND NOW IT IS" ^_^

I would recommend you watch tv and Cartoons alot, oh and what do you want to expand your imagination on?? take the subject and work on it =]

Hope this helped. =] x

Developing ones imagination can only be done by practicing. Just let your mind wonder on the subject of your choice at the time and let it take over.

Your imagination will improve and expand.

No, you improve on it. Reading books is one way. Just taking time to think... or doing something creative - the imagination is like a muscle.

Of course you can!
You can pretty much acheive anything if you set your mind to it. (I know how patronising and silly that sounds but its true)

Yeah. Just dont be narrow-minded. As in, when your just sitting and letting your mind wander, and you come to a thought that you think is riduculous, dont come out it. This all sounds weird. But just kind of unleash your mind. Dive into the deepest darkest and strangest parts of your mind. Reading and watching films also helps. I suggest you watch films like Donnie Darko and The Butterfly Effect. They're awesome!

Good morning, thats so funny because I have used that saying many times. "Your a figment of your own imagination!" I strongly dislike the ones who walk around with their noses so high in the air they would probably drown in a rain storm. Its what comes from the heart not what color the skin or how much money you have in your pocket!

You can nurture imagination. Try leading an active 'dream life' (remembering/recording dreams) because that's when things from your subconscious pop up out of nowhere.
