I know it must be really hard to be going through what your going through.

IF you feel like you've really forgiven the people who have wronged you then sometimes it's the simplest answer.... You just have to let it go. Refuse to allow Satan to put those things in your mind and steal your joy.

I can sit here and get just as mad if not madder about a situation that happened five years ago.. but what does that do... Absolutely nothing at all!

When these things come in your mind and try to affect you have a Bible verse that means something to you close by and recite it or even sing one of your favorite worship songs.

Sometimes I literally have to put my hands out straight forward palms up and name all my problems and worries... I pray about it... and once I've completely given it to God I face my palms down and let go of all the things that burden me... Sounds goofy, but it always helps me!

However, make sure that you've really forgiven the things that people have done to you and that you've dealt with in full because later on in life they will come back to bite you.

Praying for you girl!

I have a similar problem - constantly dwelling on every thing bad that's ever happened to me.

I wonder if you have REALLY "forgiven" those who wronged you in the past? If they still occupy your mind there are issues there that perhaps havent been resolved.?

I think at some point you have to make your peace with your memories and the past. Yes they are bad, but they are in the past. It is hard to do but try and draw a line under them and think of the present and the future. You have your whole future ahead of you!

Some things can help you live life in the present - doing yoga helps you to focus the mind in the present only, I find it to be very therapeutic and restful.

It is up to you to decide to leave the past in the past, or to keep schlepping it around with you. Like Jacob Marley in the story A Christmas Carol with the chains he has to carry for all of eternity. The memories that you keep with you should be the ones that make you light on your feet, not weigh you down. There are "ceremonies" or "rituals" you can perform to literally remove those extraneous thoughts, for example, get a notebook and write down all of these thoughts that are troubling you, any photos of those people or that remind you of disappointments, gather them all together. After you have written all you can, and I mean all details pertaining to those events.....put them in the shredder, they will be cut into little pieces, and made into worthless scraps that can never be put together again. I have done this myself, and it has helped tremendously. Don't let those people or those memories ruin you, the best revenge is living a good life, and you will have one if you purge those thoughts and destroy them, and best of all , no one gets hurt. Good luck to you.

The hard parts have shaped who you are and unfortunately have probably caused some permanent emotional damage which interferes with your adult relationships.

It's almost impossible to escape the ghosts of a troubled childhood. The best thing you can do is acknowledge that they are there and do your best to keep those emotions from causing you do repeat the cycle ...

To me, it particularly is that it grew to become into happiness/love back then. I in no way think of concerning to the professionals and cons till now yet I surely agree that it brings you nowhere - yet to me, it particularly is the place plan/prefer to be. caught in between moving forward and the previous.
