I have tried several times to find the value of a but cannot figure it out, here is the equation y=a(x-h)2+k the two is suppose to be "squared" but I could not find the little two, the numbers for the equation are 11.7=a(32.2-80)squared + 14

y=a(x-h)^2+k

Find the vertex?

11.7 = a (32.2 -80)^2 +14

11.7 -14 = a(32.2 -80)^2
a = -2.3 /(32.2 -80)^2 = -2.3/2284.84 = -0.0010066

(11.7-14)/47.8^2= a=0.001
