hi marlen
i really want to help, why do you think people are going on with their lives and continue to work every day when they know that one day they will all die, go under the ground and will use nothing of their lives.
the answer is about believing in god and and his perfect creation , when god created us he gave us a job to work in earth and worship him, so that he will finally reward us in heaven. of course a person could believe in all this but is still desperate , that's because he has no motives in life, motivation is what encourages u to keep going on and prevents u from falling, so u 've got to have motives, think about them e.g a very strong motive is the persons family as he works to provide them with every thing and protect them from the unknown. so when u feel desperate think about ur goals and motives in life.
good luck and plz e-mail me back ,tell me what u r thinking of.

Start setting some realistic goals, even if at this time you have no passion for them. Then, go after these goals with the very best effort you have. When you succeed, and you will if you try hard and have realistic goals, you'll start feeling better and can set more goals that you will find along the way.
Set long term goals and short term goals. Have someone 'coach' you - a parent or friend or relative or teacher or even someone on a discussion group on the internet.
Make sure you set deadlines and write down the steps you will take to accomplish the goals. Use the internet as a resource.

Dopamine levels have a lot to do with sadness. If life is "flat," "sadness" relates to flat dopamine. Thus, a new hairstyle, gardening, helping others, anything new, exciting, and challenging, helps raise dopamine levels. Addictive behavior is abuse of self or others to increase dopamine levels.
The more profound question is, why not love God sufficiently to increase dopamine per divine Love? This establishes a feedforward loop between divine Love and you, such that the joys of Nature, of kindness, and so forth, are able to raise your dopamine levels gently and with good reason/cause, because you love and joy.

"The Great Divorce," C. S. Lewis, is a good novella about personal change, ability to respect and support change, etc. Meditation, such as taught by http://www.yogananda-srf.org and http://www.easwaran.org is a good way to stabilize, balance, and increase one's energy (and dopamine affect).
"Autobiography of a Yogi," Yogananda, also worthwhile.
When "sad," also take care of a plant, a goldfish, a relationship, a diary. "When Invisible Children Sing," Dr. Huang, helps remind that others need care, too. Http://www.csmonitor.com has some great, positive news stories from around the world; very worthwhile. 1-800-232-6459 http://www.family.org is a free, impartial, professional counseling service which will provide resources and local help. Tell them your story. Http://www.klove.com has great contemporary music, some of which is very uplifting for the spirit.
God blesses you and loves you.

1) Reduce time spent with tv, radio, and internet all down to a minimum; added time should be like maximum 6 hours per week (2 hours tv max, 2 radio, 2 internet).
2) Then get out and do things, work, take classes, go to the park, meet people, hang out, do volunteer work, invest in a musical instrument, take up a variety of hobies, read interesting fun books, write poetry or short stories, write songs, etc...

Take some time off and travel see new cultures meet new people with ostentatious ideas. Be a bum, a beach bum, a surf bum, or a ski bum. Climb a mountain all by your lonesome. Then scream your frustrations out at the world once you’re at the top. Demand your answers. If you listen you might just here them in the echoes.

You have a life already. The only way you can make it seem as if you have a new life is by doing new things, talking with new people, starting new hobbies, and going to new places.

How can you get what you already have? What you want is to add conditions or activities upon the Life. Life is much more than the story which you identify with!

find something of interest to you and take a class or join a club, you can meet new people there to hang with. what about volunteering someplace to help the less fortunate, it will show you that your life is pretty good. focus on the good and not the bad, it will change your perspective.

You probably have more of a life than you think. Just be grateful for all that you have and try not to dwell on what you don't have.
