The Rev. Pat Robertson's endorsement of former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani puts front and center the day conservative evangelicals have said we would never see: a possible Republican presidential nominee who has been supportive of gays and abortion rights.

Why the shift? Thoughts?

It's simple, Pat Robertson's bigotry against Muslims is more important to him then getting a conservative candidate which probably wouldn't win the primary anyway. The whole crazy armeggadon-war in the middle east scenerio is more important in his mind.

Not that it matters, I don't think any Republican candidate has a real chance to win the presidency.

Robertson has always been a republican. He only cares to endorse the republican frontrunner. The platforms are of little relevance to him.
If I were Giuliani I would not have accepted that endorsement from Robertson, a man who claimed 9/11 was God's wrath over abortion and pornography in this country. He's a lunatic!

From what i have been reading about Rudy Giuliani... I dont think that he is really supportive of abortions and gay marriage i think that he supports people having a choice. I know that he has said that if the opportunity comes up he would appoint very conservative judges that are against abortion rights to the supreme court.

Pat Robertson, is a straight up nut case.just one example of why church and state should be separated.all he is doing, is trying to get as many people, as he can to give him donations.that;s why so many people are turning their backs on religion.if the religious community, were doing their jobs.we would.nt be getting into all these wars.Pat is all about money.just like so many other churches in this country are.my self i would,nt have anything to do with that loony bin.seems like he is changing his views on the gay and abortion rights.and going more toward the way they think.

They are afraid of Romney. The Christian Right considers Mormonism a cult. They think (mistakenly) that Giuliani(ewww) is the best chance of beating him.

What i think of is humorous? that we've a lot of of applicants this election and no person somewhat cares for any of them. you spot that this talk board bashes applicants a hell of plenty better than merchandising any of them? No Democrats are somewhat merchandising all and sundry, and the conservatives in simple terms bash the Dem applicants and by no skill sell their own. Out of all those " clever " politicians, you may think of shall we come across one we adore. yet i would be unable to. are you able to?
