I think it's wrong that hospitals are making money from people with sick friends or relatives or who are sick themselves. I know the NHS needs money but I don't think that charging people in hospitals car parks is fair. I was in a motorbike accident 6 weeks ago and fractured my skull and had a brain haemorrage. I was airlifted to the top neurology hospital in London where I had 9 and a half hours of surgery. My mum rushed down straight away (I'm only 16) and parked outside of London and got the tube. But whenever friends or family came to visit they paid to park. The hospital didn't actually have a car park, being in London but now that I'm home I have lots of outpatients appointments and every time I go we pay. It just seems wrong that because I had a massive accident I'm paying to park so that I can see a doctor. You don't have to pay at doctor's surgeries so why at hospitals?

I used to live next to The Royal Marsden (Sutton) not only was in unfair on the visitors, they also charged the workers to park there, the end result was that the patients families, Doctors and Nurses all parked in the small roads around the hospital and the car park was more or less empty #so a no win situation for everyone !

i think of they could be scrapped ideally. I conflict to work out the place the shortfall could come from nonetheless. it somewhat is an earnings circulate for the wellness midsection, so i assume the only different recommendations are to the two positioned up taxes, which persons additionally do no longer elect, or to eliminate specific drugs or centers from NHS provision. So even nonetheless it would be intense-high quality for all hospitals to have dialysis machines and to have unfastened parking, each now and then there'll could be a decision - the two one or the different. And even nonetheless no person will brazenly admit that making parking unfastened will cut back some particular wellness provisions, it is form of obvious that it is going to, via fact they do no longer seem to be unfastened... So it is puzzling. it is genuine that Wales and Scotland have not got those expenditures, yet meaning there is far less money attainable for different issues. remember, while it is composed of investment issues, you're able to make your mind up between one component being funded or yet another. case in point, if we hadn't waged conflict against Iraq, then we would have extra money for wellness care and doubtless unfastened parking...

Disgraceful, my hubby was at the hospital on Monday to see his specialist at 11.10 am, he finally got to see him at 2 pm and it cost him £3.20 for the privilege, some of those people parking their cars are pensioners on a very low income and some people are on a very tight budget too, I think its very unfair.

Complete and utter money making scam which will hurt those who can least afford it the most. The government should prohibit health boards from implenting this!

I hate it when I have to pay to go to a dr's appointment or visit a friend in the hospital.
It doesn't seem right at all.

I suppose that it must be done, because of the people that abuse it.
But If you are visiting close relatives, I think you should be issued a token or pass.
