Yes, I was even chosen the jury foreperson. It was a misdemeanor criminal case, and didn't take too long, but it was an interesting experience for someone who had taken Criminal Law in law school, worked briefly as a courtroom clerk in both criminal and civil, and been a legal secretary in civil law for many years.
It basically comes down to what evidence seems reasonably believable. OK, you have a doubt: is it a reasonable doubt?
We found the defendant guilty. We simply could not buy his very unlikely and rather inconsistent story of what happened.

I was a juror for an eminent domain case. I was the odd man out and ended up convincing the rest of the jury to award a family $500,000, as opposed to $0.

Yes. As a matter of fact, due to a glitch, I served on two juries in the same year. Usually, that doesn't happen, but I enjoyed them both.

well kinda i made it halfway there. I was up to the panel. IT was acriminal court trial. Illegal substances were at issue, and if it was enough evidence to be charged. I was in the process of moving from one parish to hte next, so they dismissed me. the process was pretty memorable, though the pay was not so great at the time.

Yes. I have also been an expert witness several times and a defendant at trial once. They are all different experiences.

Nope, I was asked if I knew about transfer of energy. After I explained what I knew, I was excused.
It was a traffic accident suit.
