Just wondering cuz cons keep confusing them with each other in a lame attempt to justify torture.

Do the detainees "talk" much after execution?

Bush understands the word execution quite well. He executed 152 people in Texas, their guilt or innocence be damned.

He has learned a new word since becoming president, interrogation. (Of course it has too many syllables for him to master the pronunciation.) It means whatever Cheney tells him it does. Bush is probably also into beheading. Why else does he hide prisoners overseas? His lawlessness knows no bounds.

Interesting question.. The Japanese use to behead in WWII. Torture has been used by all in any war. What is ok is something that does not harm the body in any way that would cause harm in the future. A free or Democratic government does not give up the right to torture. Yes, it is done differently, and no future harm should happen. America has always cared and tried to rescue their wounded, many Countries consider the wounded as usless! If I had the job of, so-called, torturing someone that we caught in terrorist plot, I would think of things like 9/11 and think of what this person was going to do! We do not live in a world that supports peace. We live in a world that some Muslims say needs cleansing! All that oppose that faith should die or accept! I will not as the forcing of anyone is not God! I am sure He wants all to have choice! God bless. Earl

That's an excellent point, and the conservatives for once can't even think of anything to say in response. I even saw someone try to justify torture by comparing it to drawing and quartering, a horrifically barbaric method of execution that hasn't been used anywhere since the 19th century. The fact that some people have done worse things doesn't make torture acceptable. We should never stoop to the terrorists' level. This is supposed to be a war AGAINST terror, not to support it.

It's a terror method - at least, if you'd seen the tapes, you'd understand that. We are not talking a Marie Antionette moment, here. We're talking a religious fanatic with a large knife sawing and hacking at an innocent person's kneck until his head comes off.

It's barbaric, but, no, it's purpose is not to coerce information form a decapitee, it's to coerce those willing to take the side of the terrorists against thier own people.

And it works.

Hasn't any one ever heard of the Talking Heads? You don't just make this up!
Beheading is just enhanced interrogation.

Uh no,those people who get beheaded don't have a chance to be a detainee for long or get meals served.

Execution method for the person being beheaded, interrogation tactic to scare the others being detained into talking, lest they be beheaded as well.

I am a Conservative and I agree with you. The argument doesn't make any sense.
Just because the enemy kills our POWs, it doesn't give us the right to torture theirs.
For that argument to make any sense, they should say that we can cut their heads off, too.
Obviously, I don't think that is right, either.
They could make better, more well-constructed arguments than this.
But I won't argue with you about how stupid this argument is.

Execution, you cannot get information out of someone after you have chopped off their head.

Beheading is an excellent way to gain some info from terrorists, the one that loses his head will not say anything but the next person in line will sing like a CANARY.
