I am on my school's makeup crew and i am doing this one guy's makeup. He has acne (and probably uses some kind of acne ointment) so his face his red. But, his neck, arms, hand, etc are not red. What color cake makeup should I use on his face? Should I use a color with a red tint to match his acne face, or a lighter one to cancel out the redness, or a darker one , or one that matches his arm/hands/neck? I am going for a natural, everyday look.

Lightly use a GREEN concealer you can get from the store to neutralize the red, then a skin tone concealer over that, then the stage makeup. No one from the audience is going to be inspecting his face that closely.

**Yellow is for dark undereye circles only**

Oh my lord. Look you should have color wheels there...maybe if you are lucky you do any way. Why don't you look up some stage make up tips on-line. Or got to the library and see if they actually have a stage make up book you can check out. There is a lot to stage make up that people don't even realize.

There is a science to make up...some of these answers are good. Use the concealer. Pick a shade that is one to two tones darker than his normal color. Do not send that poor boy out there looking like a tomato.

I agree, go with a slightly GREENER conceillor and a bit darker than his face (to match his arms).

Also note that under the bright lights, he will already look washed out, so the darker the better.

Good luck!

Yellow balances the red. I don't mean bright yellow, but a concealer that has yellow tones. Then cover him with normal face color. You should experiement a bit and see what looks best before the show opens.

Dont make his face red. Goodness no. Use a concealer thats close to his body skin tone. IF you need blend it down far into his neck so it doesnt look strange.
