Maybe we should be baking brownies with laxatives and giving that to those who wish to kill us.

Some of the answers that have been posted are ridiculous. People have no clue how badly the muslim extremists want to kill us. Just wait until a single liberal women is forced to wear a towel over her face because we have been over run by muslims. Then I bet they reverse course on waterboarding.

What if you waterboard one innocent person. Some schmo who is not a terrorist, but just some guy at the wrong place at the wrong time that happens to look like a terrorist we are searching for. He's snagged off the road, maybe his kids are waiting for him, and he's waterboarded into confessing for a crime he didn't commit. Suddenly he's doing hard time in Cuba and his family is out a father.

Terrorists are not human beings. They are animals. They should be tried and, if found guilty, executed. But if you lie with dogs you get fleas. The America I grew up in was proud that we stood above the other nations of the world that tortured their enemies.

Moral relativism is never good. If so-and-so does A, and B isn't as bad as A, I should be able to do B. It's a weak argument that weakens us morally. What good is victory when we best an enemy by becoming like them, only worse? The Bible said something about gaining the world at the cost of your soul. Check it out.

Just a little thing called the CONSTITUTION. Try reading it.

Aside from the inhumanity of both beheading and water boarding, our constitution prohibits BOTH. Americans have traditionally not looked to our enemies to establish our own ethical conduct. We have always in our history been better that that. Our savage behavior has nothing to do with the savage behavior of others.

There's nothing wrong with waterboarding under certain conditions - in war or other extremem circumstances when lives can be protected.

The Dems argument is bogus, they know this is correct, but they're playing gotcha and "I hate George Bush" politics, and it's flat-out evil.

It is the mere point that you cannot justify your actions against the actions of another.

Would you condone water boarding against an American prisoner suspected of a violent crime?

On a smaller scale it is like justifying stealing a bike because your neighbor stole a car, thus your actions are negated because the are "not as bad"

It is a slippery slope when we start adopting other peoples standards, and not holding ourselves accountable.

Libs are against anything that benefits our military mission of defending our homeland.
And yes we should seek to understand what we've done to these peaceful people to deserve our heads being separated from our necks.

Sad how the liberal mind works

I'm a Democrat, but I have no problem with it. We're not dealing with a conventional enemy here. These people don't value human life. They must be laughing at us for thinking that is torture.

What is wrong with a random murder every once in a while since Jeffery Dahmer has eaten people?

Since when are we our enemies? Your mother never explained to you as a child why it's not good to jump off the Brooklyn Bridge just because your friend did?
