actually they're a jazz/rock band from the late 60's/70's. Big hits included: And Whin I Die, Spinning Wheel, You've Me So Very Happy. Blood Sweat & Tears didn't really take off untill 1968 when singer David Clayton-Thomas was brought in. They also shared the same producer as Chicago-James William Guercio.

I don't know of a country band by that name but there was a jazz/rock group of that name that was popular in the late 1960s and early 1970s. They had hits with songs like "And When I Die". Spinning Wheel", and "You've Made Me So Very Happy".
