no, they will only give you the cable internet. You have to pay extra even for basic cable which is pretty stupid. I think the basic cable costs around 20 dollars a month.

RE:
If I order Comcast internet only, will I also get basic cable tv?
It was my understanding that when it was still Time Warner, if you only paid for the high speed cable internet you would still also get the basic cable channels from the wall.
Comcast charges around $43 for internet and another $50 for tv, unless you get the 3 for $99 promo. My thing is, I'm...

It was my understanding that you only get what you pay for, I have comcast down in Florida, and i only pay for the internet service, but i still get the basic service if i plug the cable into the back of my TV. I was helping my parent set up there new service in Boynton beach about 1/2 hour north of me, and I tryed to do the same thing for them, and the service did not work, however the have a time warner box, and i have the comcast box.

In the SF bay area, Comcast basic cable is about $20/month & internet access = $40/month.
There are package deals where each component is discounted a little bit but you are still paying for each service. e.g. VOIP + cable TV + internet = $99/month ($33 for each service)
I can't see paying Comcast $1,200/year. I think Comcast nickel & dimes their customers. I only use them for internet access because I can't get DSL.

Where I live we have basic cable and high speed internet, I think we're only paying like $10 a month for the basic cable and $45 for the internet. It was also my understanding that unless you had comcast cable (basic or otherwise) you couldn't get the internet.

don't get comcast! i used to work for them. it will be nothing but headaches and crazy *** no way to understand how the bill got so high moments. I worked in their billing/technical support department in woodridge answering questions like that. I also did some sales and yes you will get some basic channels, but it doesn't always work that way. thats a case by case non intentional situation

I aint about to read all that stuff. First of all I am in Sacramento. There has always been the ability to plug the coaxial directly to the TV without the cable box. It goes in the TV as an analog signal, and in my apartment complex I was able to get channels 2-73 plus 95 and 96 for free. But now Comcast wised up and they took away all the channels except for what you would get for ordering the Basic Service. Which is just your local channels. We used to be able to order Expanded Basic Service. NO MORE THO! Now in Sacramento only the $15 a month basic is available. Comcast has forced everyone else to digital cable at a higher cost to many people who can not afford it. The Double play special is $70 for Digital Starter plus the Internet. Add the taxes and fees ya end up with close to $80. After 6 months it goes to the normal price which is $110 a month. So I know what I can do to get it for a cheaper price. I have to cancel the internet service, add the $30 special for the Starter Digital. See what many do not know is that once that signal is coming thru the cabling it carry's both the TV and HSI. Well I know how using my own modem, and router, not registering my modem thru comcast how I can connect to the internet thru comcast's system. How it is done? Thatt I will not share. Comcast is getting to be toooooo big. They I believe control too much of the internet provider service. Well dats it for me.
