Only the Chinese = they have the determination and a political system that allows them to 'get away with it' ..

Both USA & Europe have political systems that have to meet public aspirations re: spending of Tax money on things like Medi-Care etc. before fancy moon bases ..

NB. I expect to see the Chinese launch an Orion Nuclear Pulse Engine space-craft in the near future .. this allows city sized payloads at reasonable launch cost (unlike the rockets (aka ' fireworks') everyone else is using)

Occasionally Bush makes moon noises. Don't believe him. Congress would never allow another moondoggle. The american people lost interest in the middle of the first one, and several flights were cancelled. I suspect China might try a landing, since its easier for totalitarian states to mandate stupid and wasteful projects. But I seriously doubt they would try a base. Keeping a base supplied would be an economic nightmare for a god. I cannot believe any other power would attempt such a thing. Russia probably doesn't have the infrastructure it once had to pull off such a stunt. I cannot believe the Japanese would be so foolish. Even the French aren't THAT dumb.

"Zero". As in "Zilch". AKA "None". Not in your lifetime, they don't. What are you waiting for? Santa Clause?

Seriously... the moon base thing is ridiculous. They are talking about a four man phone booth with rocket engines as if it were a "moon base". Speaking of "Low expectations".... And I doubt even that will happen. It will be a repeat of 1969-72: CHEER, Cheer, celebrate... yawn... yawn... yawn... cancel program.

Don't you watch UFO on Sky, there is a big base there now, and when we can grow steel girders on the moon we are the next.

We are all moving there within 5 years to get away from Global warming. Al Gore is there right now putting the foundations in as we speak. He has a special hybrid space ship that he invented himself.
