I LOVE the City Museum, it really is a cool place and I have never been to a place like it in the US. On Fridays and Saturdays they are open to 1 am to allow us “bigger” kids to come out and play. The caves are awesome to crawl through and I really like the new dark light slide room. Where else can you go down slides that are 5 stories tall! Kids of all ages have a great time here! I also like the aquarium, not your traditional type of aquarium it does have the City Museum twist. Crawling through the shark tank is so cool and of course feeding the sting rays is just awesome! Beat Neck Bob’s is also located in the city museum you can get some beer here is you are thirsty for a cold one; they also sell corn dogs and snacks like that. Again on Friday and Saturdays they show movies there which is really cool. If you have kids they will love this place, there is a train that they can ride, tons of places to crawl and climb, playing is encouraged here. There is also the Everyday Circus which is pretty neat to see, kids who are learning things like juggling, acrobats and walking on wires, you can even have a birthday party with the circus which is a cool idea. They also have an art studio where you or the kids can make a tie dyed t-shirt or other projects and they have an onsite glass blowing studio, so cool to see. They have different special exhibits throughout the year in the gallery so you never know what you are going to walk into. Outside the City Museum is like no other climb the metal tunnels to get to the airplanes that hang above the building, go down some cool slides and have fun in the ball pit. Be sure to find the “secret” tunnel that takes you under the floor of the City Museum you will feel like Indiana Jones way cool. There is so much to do here for all ages; it also makes a great date place. There is so much to see and do and even at my age I have a blast going there. Whenever I have friends that come into STL we always take them there and they cannot believe that we have something so cool here. Again I have never been to a place like this anywhere else in the US. I highly recommend going there! You might want to check out their website for more information it is very extensive and has everything you need to plan a wonderful trip to the City Museum; it is on my list of top ten places to see here in STL. Hope this helps!

Been there many times. Every time you go there is something new. Most everything is made from recycled materials -- everything from an old airplane to salvaged architectural pieces. The place is run by an artist, Robert Cassilly. There is an aquarium there too, but a separate charge applies.
Thrill seekers will enjoy it. If you are afraid of heights or confined spaces, however, it might not be for you. I think ages 8 and up are fine. Little guys could get lost or might get scared. If there are little ones in your group, you might try the Magic House instead. It's better for the 10 and under crowd and still a lot of fun.
If you like Cassilly's stuff, check out Turtle Park too. It's near the STL Zoo.

I have 5 kids. They all love the City Museum. Lots to keep them busy!!! My kids' age range is from ages 8-15. A bit pricey, but a very neat place. The outdoor area is the best part especially at night. Perfect for ages 5 and up. I agree that it would be difficult to take any child under 5. It is a must see.

Its fun to go to on a Friday night and play at being a child. Its really not for small children but its fun for those with a great imagination. Not your typical museum by any stretch.

really you want to locate I-40 East at Barstow and take all of it a thanks to the jct of I-80 one at Chattanooga TN .Take I -80 one NB to Harrisburg then I-seventy 8 East into JersyCity /Holland Tunnel/ Canal St in case you hit snow on I-40 it will be between Ashfork AZ & 20 miles east of Flagstaff and there is also a stretch entering & out of Allbuqueque. in case you hit snow on I-80 one , you could continuously flow east and seize I-ninety 5 . In doing so that you'll lose altitude and get next to a warmth salty ocean. Regardless if you're going to be doing iciness utilising you have to be prepared to spend a nighttime on your automobile. carry nutrition , water , a dozing bag, candles, and the all important tremendous espresso can to apply as a chamber pot. i extremely disagree with the poster that said routing this via El Paso with the exception of the particular shown reality that it will upload about 2 hundred miles onto your holiday i doesn't deliver a unmarried lady on that routing on a raffle . i imagine that with some exceptions that total stretch of one million-10 & a million-20 is the yank ratlands and considering that is on the brink of the border there is more suitable than a particular volume threat to it . that extend is purely one among those places the position in case your automobile breaks down ,it coud placed you in mortal peril. I also disagree with the necessary premise of south is safer. i can inform you from journey that utilising in a PA snow fall is safer than utilising in a Texas icestorm . Btw in case you want good NYC guidelines basically question me because for some bizzare reason each and each and every of the computer mapping amenities supply flat out incorrect NYC guidelines

I've been there. I actually really hate this place. It seems really dangerous to me if you have small children. Its dirty and weird, and it feels sort of demented to me. But this is just my opinion. Most people really like this place for some odd reason. Lots of friends have been there and really enjoyed it. But if you're thinking of going I hope you have fun. If you have small children I would recommend checking out the exhibits before you let them crawl and play on them.
