My family views Thanksgiving as a day remember how grateful we are for everything God has done for us.

Honestly, my family thinks of Thanksgiving as a holiday to relax, spend time with the family and EAT! We definitely go all out on Thanksgiving dinner. I'm sure most of my family members consider it a day to be thankful but it's really not something we talk about.

Growing up, we'd go to my grandma's house where we'd eat our dinner, then all of the men would go in the living room and watch football while the women washed the dishes!! How unfair that was. But my husband and I only watch one sports game a year.. the Super Bowl. If it's just us, then we'll just spend the day watching movies, etc. But if we go to my mom's house, we eat dinner, then dessert, help clean up, then just hang out at her house until it's time to eat more turkey! I think one year when it was just my husband, son and I, we went to a movie after dinner because we had nothing else to do because everything was closed. (My husband was a Marine, so we never went home for Thanksgiving since we lived so far away.) I remember last year at my mom's house.. since we didn't cook, we didn't have any leftovers to eat later on. We were so hungry that we went driving around to try to find a restaurant that was open. Boston Market had just closed! So we went to Walgreens to look at outside Christmas decorations but the one I wanted was never delivered to the store. So we went home hungry and ended up raiding the cupboards to find something to eat! Have a Happy Thanksgiving.

Not a sports day. There are such few of us left that thanksgiving is thanksgiving. The youngest cousins are in there mid 40's and the oldest ones are in their 60's, and only a few have kids.

Its definately a family time, I know that we are all grateful to be together, and we ake sure to go around the prayer cirlce and say whatwe are grateful for. Then we eat; alot. And because we are mostly women, we get movies and games, and well- lots of liquor and have fun!
