I did Diet Coke and Mentos. It's fun, there are a lot of resources for it, and you get to drink the soda afterwards.

They're just the ticket for getting lots of attention and laughs - well unless grandpa comes by and it zaps his pacemaker - but aside from that, you can make big sparks, levitate bits of paper, make your hair stand on end, ignite flammable substances (well, maybe forget that last part).

Here's one I thought of the other day, how about an experiment to determine if animals can recognize or even on some level appreciate music? You could have two areas/rooms, one playing music and the other one playing random noise. You could see which room the animals (mice?) tend to choose.

All you need is some dirty copper pennies.

What kind or project? I reccomend this: Stare at someone through a glass window and see how long it takes that to realize that someone is there. They can't be facing you to begin with, though.
