They are usually well educated, well spoken, upper middle class graduates - what's not to like?

The monkees may not have been the Beatles or the Stones but this seems quite apposite

The local rock group down the street
Is trying hard to learn their song
Seranade the weekend squire, who just came out to mow his lawn

Another Pleasant Valley Sunday
Charcoal burning everywhere
Rows of houses that are all the same
And no one seems to care

See Mrs. Gray she's proud today because her roses are in bloom
Mr. Green he's so serene, He's got a t.v. in every room

Another Pleasant Valley Sunday
Here in status symbol land
Mothers complain about how hard life is
And the kids just don't understand

Creature comfort goals
They only numb my soul and make it hard for me to see
My thoughts all seem to stray, to places far away
I need a change of scenery

"Suburbia" was my favourite film for a lot of years, but now I find it kind of bleak. Directed by Penelope Spheeris as it happens, who later went on to direct "Wayne's World". An early outing for Flea (Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist, and credited as "Mike B The Flea").

I don't know anything about the Sububan people. I don't even know of the Uban people. Is it like a desert, the Uba, and the Sububans are like the Sub-Saharans?

Due to your repeated requests for INTELLIGENT responses, I know it couldn't be just a misspelling ...

I would assume that they prefer not to live in an urban environment and want a yard, etc. I would also assume that they are likely to have children. Another assumption is that they are middle class. Beyond that, I wouldn't make any assumptions about who is a suburbanite. I know people who when they were young were radicals, hippies, punk rockers and even a few metal band musicians who later moved to the suburbs. My 40 year old son is one of them :-)

I believe that no matter what mainstream America thinks, it is just as dangerous as urban areas, and probably more dangerous since people try to hide what is going on or deny what it happening.

People are just what they are, 'people,' and as there are 'all types of people,' my opinions range from not having one to, mildly curious, and on towards the indifferent level of things.

I hope this helps clarify things for you!
Sash.

I haven't got an opinion. They are people just like you and me. Why put them into boxes and put a tag on them?
