I need a song for my play audition (annie) I don't have a high vocal range so it can't be very hard. Any help would be great thanks.

You don't say what role you want, but assuming you want Annie you will not get the role without a great vocal range and belt. It's a very difficult part to sing and it's very hard on an untrained voice. You need a vocal coach ASAP. That show is brutal on girls voices and you could really do some damage without professional help.

Annie and the orphans are all mezzos and most if not all need to belt. You also have to dance well (tap and jazz) and gymnastics is a huge plus.

Though I do not recommend you go in singing a song from the show, if you want Annie be prepared to sing Tomorrow and hit the big high belting notes. In most of the auditions I've seen for this show, they want to hear the orphans sing Hard Knock Life, but you still need to go in with your own audition song. What I'm saying is be prepared and know songs from the show in case you're asked to sing from the show. This actually goes for any audition but because this score is difficult I've seen it happen at every audition that they ask the kids to sing from the score in addition to whatever they came in the door singing. Your initial audition song gets you a callback if you sing well. Then you sing from the show and dance. Reading is almost always the last consideration here because they figure they can coach you if need be. You have to sing and dance.

So, my suggestions would be:
The Big Time – Will Rogers
Born To Entertain – Ruthless
Go Into Your Dance – 42nd Street
When I Get My Name in Lights – The Boy From Oz
Anything’s Possible (McElligot’s Pool) – Seussical
My New Philosophy – You’re A Good man Charlie Brown
Little Known Facts – You’re A Good man Charlie Brown
I Want It Now – Charlie & Choc. Factory (may be too low)
Why Am I Me – Shenandoah

good luck,
Marianne

If they allow you to sing a song from the show, I would suggest "You're Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile". Otherwise try:

Girl I'm Meant to Be - The Secret Garden
Gee, I"m Glad I'm No One Else But Me - Anne of Green Gables
My New Philosophy - You're a GOod Man Charlie Brown
Shy - Once Upon A Mattress
I Know Things Now - Into the Woods
Honey Bun - South Pacific
I Enjoy Being a Girl - Flower Drum Song

I surely have auditioned pupils for over 25 college musicals. it somewhat is my opinion which you're able to never sing something that may no longer a minimum of two many years old. i'm no longer that lady" has in ordinary terms been complete by utilising the character in wicked, or an exceptionally modern-day recording, meaning you're competing against a specialist. you in addition to mght run the threat of being considered one of the to sing the comparable music. seek for an identical character to the only your daughter might elect to be in this tutor. look in 20 365 days old musicals. solid success

"I'm Not That Girl" from Wicked. You don't have huge, long notes you have to hold and it's a good song! =D

(By the way, we did Annie at our school too, and if you make it...it's a great play to perform!)
