Well, $25 is much less than $125. The best thing you can do is contact At&T, tell them what you understood to be the case. If they won't resolve it for you, then file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. They'll get it straightened out for you.
Good luck.

Don't forget their motto is "AT&T is the new Cingular" and Cingular was always pulling some scheme like that on their customers.
Take a look at the paperwork they handed you when you first signed up with them. That should tell you about any rebates.
Maybe you will see in that paperwork that you needed to send in an additional rebate claim that you did not send yet. Maybe your claim was submitted but they are just very slow on paying rebates (often take 10 weeks and you only had about 6 so far).
Call their customer service number and tell them you still haven't gotten the last $50 of your refund and you need them to track down what happened to it.

The fine print probably covered it. There is rarely any "free lunch" with large companies, so I have learned to be suspect of promises of money back. Did you possibly have to send in a rebate form to get some of it? I doubt that you were really lied to, but they probably made it seem to be something it was not.

Was the call from Nigeria? Maybe they also stole your identity. I can't help but wonder if a credit check just gives some hacker whatever they need to rip you off. How many telemarketers also work for hackers as well? It would seem that no one is safe. Maybe you should have had this in writing?

I'll bet there was some fine print somewhere that you didn't see. This is why AT&T does not have the best rep for customer service.

Ruth,
Check your monthly bill. What they have probably done is give you a "credit".. That's how they did mine. It is considered cash back but they deduct it from your bill instead of giving you the full amount.
Best of luck to you!
