Hubby comes in last night, first thing he says is " I talked to your buddy ____ today". (The person he talked to is NOT my buddy, in fact is HIS buddy, someone who he knows I dont like very much and who has been the central figure in past marital arguments). I told hubby that he was taking a sarcastic passive/aggresive jab at me with the comment. His response was "oh I was just being silly". SILLY? He sounded fake and used an "aww shucks" sord of tone when he said it. Opinions ?

Sounds to me like you are too sensitive about this...his answer made sense. He tried to make light of the fact you dislike or disapprove of the guy. Sounds like he was trying to lighten things up when he brought up a subject he thought you would get upset about. Guess he can't kid around with you.

It was a joke. He knows that you don't get along with this guy.

This friend of his really seems to be a problem for you. Life is too short.

Somethings a joke is just meant as joke, even if it was a bit off-color.

Tell him he should hear what his buddy has to say about him when his back is turned.

Certainly sounds like he is trying to get a rise out of you. Good for you for calling him out on it.
