(Vocational and Educational Services for Individuals with Disabilities) -VESID-
im looking to go back to school, college or to get some training and i have been found disabled by the State of NY with Major Depression, and anxiety and i recieve SSI/SSD
just wonding if any one has any experience with this agency or knows of any financial aid one can recieve due to disabilities...even though mine are not physical

Never had any dealings with them but they should be able to help you, there supposed to help you find a job to. They should be able to help you out, check their website, I am sure they have a lot of info, good luck!!!

I'd be cautious, if the programs that exist in the disabled community are the same type of programs that exist to help those without work experience or people who are having financial difficulties due to shortages of work. I most definately wouldn't recommend it. These programs are designed to force people back into the workplace working for peanuts and get them off from government assisted medical care. Once you prove you can work, you are no longer considered disabled. Proceed with caution, and ask a lot of questions. Remember if it sounds to good to be true it probably is. ;-)

VESID is a very good organization they pay for my books right now in community college and they are helping me set up a goal on what i want to study and become . after college they will help me get a job and also they can help find living arrangements. it is a very good oranization

yes they can help you in many ways they are in Albany just call them they are real busy so don't take it wrong if it takes a week for them to get back to you they can help you apply with some transportation and other things they will even do an evaluation to see what you are in to so as to get you in the right training field wither boces or 2 yr college
