this has baffled me for years. it just seems rediculous that this is not a mandatory requirement on any new commercial and residential buildings. IS IT JUST ME?

You won't find electrical wirings that could start a spark nor can you find a flammable materials on the exterior portion of a structure...Unless you would start a fire outside then i might consider putting up a sprinkler on my next project...

But that's a good thought dough...Keep those sparks flying dude!

Sprinkler systems help control the fire inside the building where the firemen may not be able to enter. It also saves a lot of merchandise.

they is why they have htdrants close by for the out side of the building as well, the fire needs to be cooled and give the FD time and it saves lives, most of the buildings on the outside are brick and metal so the wood and other materials get burned first.

People safety. Once people are out, they are not in danger of burning up; just the building.
