When my head strong boy throws a fit on the floor, I know the curse worked. I sometimes say, "I'm sorry for doing this to you Mom." Before I pick up my boy to take him home.

Yes! I wasn't a bad kid, just a female and the oldest of 4 siblings. I didn't get into a heap of trouble. But Mom put that curse on me when we'd get frustrated with each other. Now, I couldn't have kids for medical reasons, so I figured I was safe.
Till I married a guy with an 8 year old son. I tried, really I did. He'd be the first to tell you I was a better mom to him than his biological psycho mother. He was very smart, good looking, but couldn't be controlled or disciplined no way, no how. I got the curse of 10 mothers, let me tell you! To make a long story short, if he behaves himself he'll be out of prison in about 20 years.

I have cursed all 3 of my kids with the "mother's curse". So far only 1 daughter has blessed me with a grandchild, but I keep hoping the curse will continue. But it's not exactly working correctly, Daughter #1 has a daughter that is more like her sister was, than her.

I didn't hear that, what I heard was,"Just wait till you have kids and then you will understand." I had pretty good kids, so I didn't start saying " Oh I can't wait till you have kids!" until they were teenagers and beyond into and out of college!I Uncle Lew who has a degree in psychology and a great sense of humor told me recently that "Kids move into a--hole valley at about 18 and don't move out till they are about 28" LOL!!! I think he is right!!! I have also threatened my kids that I will tell their children a story about the Black Hole behind the couch where you can throw away trash, (candy wrappers, bananas skins, orange peels etc and it will disappear!!) lol! I just love the look on their faces!! lol!

I was a pretty good kid.......But my daughter on the other hand, well she is a good kid, just makes bad choices at times and tends to run with the wild boys-----not sure why.....but I often think when she has kids some day I hope she gets a daughter like her......But then I also think--NO I do not want to do that to her, because she will need alot of patience.......and my daughter is not a patient person.......so I want her to have kids she can deal with, but make her understand some of what she put me through.......

My husband always tells me that my kids were a parents dream. It must be true. If they have kids just like them they will be lucky. Sometimes my oldest will ask me advice about a problem with his daughter and I don't always know the best way to respond. I just did not have any real problems with mine

No, i don't think it works beause I had pretty good kids. I know I could give my Mom a run for her money. Mine weren't perfect but better then me. I think it all came down to not wanting to disappoint their grandmother.
I never said it to my own kids, the one who has children as pretty good kids. Helps out alot and is kind. (Mouthy, but then what teenager isn't)

My kids were good, so no in my situation. I was a hellion and left home at 15. of course Mother wanted it that way. In fact all four of us left home before 18...just to make her happy. Now all of them are gone except me. I call and send her money but don't visit often. In fact I pay for her trips to see me..but we all dread it.

It was said to me many many times, and yes, both of them act like I did, especially the oldest one. I tell her the same thing, but she's a better kid than I was at her age (15).
