i was looking at my triplets birth certificates this morning, yeah i keep them with me at the hospital sad but true,
dont you think they should be more interesting! like just have some glitter and some ribbons and some pictures and some huge great font used!
but ooohhh no they are standard issue govt crap with an impressed mark in the paper.
seriously now cummon!
i wanted sparkles and glitter and some kinda congratulations banner and perhaps some nice pink or blue writing...
why cant we decorate birth certificates???

Or better yet, put the circumstances of the conception on them......Like, for my daughter, I could put, "Special Thanks To the makers of Tequila, and Such & Such Pub, for allowing me to dance on the bar on conception night."

I totally agree with you about birth certificates being boring!! There is an alternative, you can buy another birth certificate, I did this for my son, it was a smaller birth certificate and I decorated it with blue ribbons and sparkly bits and a picture of my son and then put it in my "baby" photo album.
This is not against the law as long as you do not decorate the long boring one.which would be against the law.
My son has obviously got his birth certificate now but I have always got the decorated one in the baby photo album - such sweet memories - shame they have to grow up!!! lol

Its a legal document and against the law to decorate them, why not get someone to do the sort you would like on a computer for you,then you can decorate them with ribbons and glitter to your hearts content, how are your beautiful babies doing, hope they are very well, take care and good luck.

Its just a government slip of paper that proves the children were born. The decorating is for the congradulations card.

yes thats true it is supposed to be a celebration when you give birth but on your birth certificate its as if you just got a receipt from a library in the 1700s saying when your book is due back

Yeah - at least blue for boys and pink for girls!!
I quite like my boy's certificate because it has the same address for me as it does place of birth for him - I had him in my living room!

my sons had a mistake on it. His name is Zach Sam Garden. They had moms name as Daisy Sam Garden. My name is Daisy Flower Garden.. when I went to them, all they did is put a line across Sam on my name - period. It looks bad - u ask for glitter - meanwhile I have a line across moms middle name.... I know.. I know.. they could at least decorate it nice..

It's a big event in anyone's life. If I have a nice birth certificate on a beautifully decorated paper, it would certainly please me.
