I have come across this in jokes, and was just curious if people really do this (yikes!) practice?

ok, if I look like an idiot, so be it, but it also tied into water preservation?

No. apart from anything else, it would be virtual suicide. A camels kick makes a mule look like an amateur.

The old fashioned way to castrate a large animal is to tie a piece of string (or a rubber band) around the top of the scrotum. After a few days they atrophy and can be removed (relatively) painlessly.

Camel Castration

I don't think they would. I mean, do you honestly think that an animal the size of a camel is going to allow someone to sandwich his testicles between two bricks? I'm pretty sure whoever is holding the bricks is in for some serious pain of their own. I wouldn't recommend trying this technique.

No it is a joke. Those of you who don't get it it don't try. I can't believe anyone would believe that joke was real. It as dumb as the one about the Foreign Legion Colonel and the camel

No. It was deemed to be a dangerous and painful process. Too many thumbs got caught between the bricks.

Edit- I don't think the "Colonel one" is that dumb, Sid. I nearly fell off the ladder when I heard it.
