To be cleared of blame in a paternity suit, the man would have to be AA or AO...anything but one that has a B in it (AB BO or BB). The B could not have come from the mother, as the mothers blood type of A indicates AO, with the O being donated to the child, so it had to come from the father. If a man is AA or AO he could not have provided the B for the child, and would thus be exonerated from responsibility.

He would have to be Type B because the baby takes either the mother or the father's blood type.

He would have to have blood type B because if you did a Punnett Square (a chart used to determine possible combinations of the genes of offspring) the answer would come out to B or Bb. He could be either Homozygous Dominant or Heterozygous. (BB or Bb)
