What's your opinion of off the rack clothing with respect to fit?

We all grow into various shapes and sizes and off the rack only comes in very few sizes. Would more sizes and body type selection sell better?

Men have it better than women. They get pants by waist and leg length. Shirts have collar sizes and sleeve length.
