He was into some heavy debts to casinos in Vegas, and Detroit. Early in his career, he cames out and said he was an alcaholic, so, it looked like gambling was just another addiction. He did have some bad business deals too. Put a wife, that loves to spend his cash, and youtr in trouble. I saw him and his old lady in a resturant in Detroit, and the way she strutted around with her nose in the air, you would think she was the one droppin the gloves, and scoring the goals. Wish the best for big Mac, he was always a good guy, in spite of any troubles he has had.

damn i hope not he was a great player and can still be a good fourth-liner now. i think a team could use him like anaheim used brad may last year. hes a clutch player, too, scored some big goals for the wings back when. but he probably has since nobody picked him up in the offseason - too bad he ruined a great life and hurt a great career and reputation with his gambling habit.

i assume it could be effective if each and every enterprise you worked for could furnish you with a loose year of wages........maximum won't and the Redwing employer isn't any diverse. D MAC grew to become into continuously considered one of my favorites and that i've got watched hockey for over 40 years.

I would've loved to have seen the Wings pick him up again. Scholar and a gentleman.

I don't think it was gambling. Seems to me he had a buddy who scammed him with some investments..

Yes, I think he did. I know that he was in major debt though.

Hopefully he's dropped off the face of the earth. Or else he's living as Kris Draper's mistress.
