I have some girl friends coming into town next weekend for an awesome girls weekend. We are planning to go out dancing Friday night and for pedicures on Saturday morning, but I don't know what else to do. I had thought about the Chocolate Bar in Lafayette Square Saturday night... but I just don't have enough ideas. Any help on how to spend Saturday would be great. Also, if anyone knows any really fun restaurants for lunch in St. Louis I really would appreciate it.
Not Blueberry Hill please...

If you like chocolate, The Melting Pot is a great experience! If it's too pricey to have dinner and dessert, just go there for dessert. You can still have a lingering fondue experience and have lots of time to "girl talk."

If you can't fit The Melting Pot into your budget, buy a fondue pot at Goodwill, or another second hand shop. Have each girl pick something to contribute to the meal. Lots of variety makes it interesting. Do the fondue thingie and have fun!

Have a pool party! Get a room at a hotel with an indoor pool. (If you're lucky, someone from your group is staying there!) Tell everyone to bring their swimsuits. Take it to the extreme if you have the $$. Have a Hawaii theme.

Also, for lunch on Saturday, try an Indian restaurant. St. Louis has a huge selection of these restaurants. Many have a lunch bar you can sample all different varieties of dishes. If not Indian, there are many great small Mexican restaurants in the city. But, I recommend asking around for a recommendation from co-workers or friends. If your out-of-town friends haven't been to St. Louis before, be sure to take them to The Hill.. Go to Adrianna's. They have a wide selection of foods and Italian sandwiches that are GREAT! Prices are fair.
The Central West End and Webster Groves are eclectic with lots of restaurants along the main drag. Both are unusual neighborhood with shops you can wander in and out of, and they're different again from the "Blueberry Hill" area. If you're all old enough to drink, St. Louis has loads of micro breweries. They're usually pretty nice, and have good food. And, you can taste different beers. If you prefer wine, you can drive to a winery nearby. You'll need extra drive time for this activity. Check with the winery to make sure about their hours on a Saturday.

If you like handcrafted products, go to Kimswick, MO. It's off of I-55 S (Google it!). It's a little river town, quaint and if you have good weather you can spend a few hours having lunch and walking around town and shopping. The same goes for St. Charles, but on a larger commercial scale.

If we have a warm Saturday, pack a picnic lunch, or stop at KFC? and go to the Zoo. Our Zoo is 4th in the U.S. and in the top 10 of the world! Don't forget about the Science Center's Body 3 exhibit, and we have a beautiful Art Museum that's restaurant is very nice with upscale dining. Food is very nice and so is the presentation.

Check out what's new in the Thursday Get Out section of the Post-Dispatch, or the Trading Times.

Have Fun!

You could go to Marisol for tapas or dinner. It's across the street from the Pageant.

There's a nice little tea room in Fenton, off Old Gravois in the old Aztec Hotel. The name is Sisters Tea Room or some thing like that.

Hit the CWE for lunch, shopping, bar hopping.

Shop til you drop all over town.

Check out the cultural opportunities in Forest Park...the museuum, zoo, jewel box, the lake -- the Boathouse is a great place to eat.

See what's at the Fox or the Rep out at Webster College.

Drive down to Kimmswick or up to Old St. Charles to window shop in the old stores. There's a great Christmas store in Kimmswick to get started on presents. The Blue Owl has the best pie in the world! Even Paula Deen recommends the apple pie; it's about 6" tall.

Lunch at Hodaks for fried chicken. The BEST.

For lunch - a great restaurant is 1111 Mississippi (and at that address). The food is awesome.

How about a tour of the brewery(free beer included), -- that is close to the restaurant.

Additional -- don't know if you'd like this or not -- but how about the Riverboat casinos?
