Tickets to those locations are more expensive than a regular theater and the tick will only subsides the cost, you will need to cover the remainder.
Average ticket is $8 will say, but an Imax is $12 so you will need to pay the $4 difference.

Reel D is a location, like the name of a theater or theater chain. IMAX is a type of film ( you probably know that) that requires special screens , and other special equipment.
so it IS a ticket that should be good at a Reel D, but the surcharge thing means there may be some extra charge.

I would assume that means that there are locations that it's not good for a completely free admission (such as IMAX) and that if you use the ticket at one of those locations you will have to pay. What you pay should be less than the cost of the full price ticket.

Sounds like you'll get a discount. Surcharges usually are like tax or a small fee for brokering the ticket. So basically you get in free, but may have to pay a small fee for them handling the transaction.

This means at these locations, since they are different then a "normal" movie theater and charge higher prices, that you will have to pay extra with your ticket at these locations.
Most likely you'll get a discount of around $7.00 - $8.00 since this about what a normal movie costs.

Sometimes a movie theatre will still charge a surcharge for 'free' movie passes. It can be a quarter. It can be a dollar. Just depends on which 'brand' movie theatre you present your pass to. Some won't charge you the surcharge, especially if they know you visit them often. :)
