They should. At their respective ages and position, it is very hard for them to find such a huge deal else where.

They are gonna test the market
Rivera might go the Dodgers and Saito will be moved into the setup role/ traded
And Posada may go to the mets
Posada wants more of a 4 year/ 56 million dollar deal
3 years/40 million is WAY WAY TOO MUCH for a closer, but if anyone is gonna spend it, it'll be the yankees, if he doesn't go there it'll be to joe torre in LA

Actually, Mo was offered 40 for 3 years and its being renegotiated. Posada was offered 42 for 3 and its being redone as well. Expect Mo to sign right away but Posada wants to test the waters and see what he can get.

Johhnyboy and Metsfan, you guys are way off base here. To dis spell any rumors, the Yanks are currently in contract negotiations with Mo and Posada. They have stated that they want the deals to be done by Nov. 13 --- after that, free agents can talk money with any team.
There is the outside chance that Mo would follow Torre to LA, but they'd have to out duel the Yanks wallet for that. Hank Steinbrenner made it clear in a press conference that they will offer Posada and Rivera substantial amounts to keep them.
I expect them to stay in pinstripes.

I think posada will signed with the mets, he is really angry with the yankees organization for letting Joe Torre go.
The Red Sox don't need a catcher they already have one.

I believe you will see both players sign with the Yankees. There is an outside chance the Mets might try to enter into the mix if they don't sign A-Rod.

Heard the Mets may offer Pasada a monster deal, something like $70 million over 5 yrs...Mo may follow Torre, Bowa, and Mattingly to LA.
