Everybody agrees a teenager is from 13-19. But what is a young adult, an adult, a middle aged person, and a senior citizen. What do these terms mean to you. Is being elderly different than being a senior?

Im gonna say young adult is 18-20...adult is 21-64. Middle ages person 30-45. Senior citizen 65 and older. I would say that elderly is different that being a senior....Dont worry too much about getting old....were all gonna get there and im sure you hit up a lot of young ladies when you were in your prime.

I had a professor yesterday say that the teens now end at 40 because so many 'older' people are currently enrolled in universities. This is what I've thought up based on that opinion:
babies: 0-18
teens: 18-40
young adult: 40-50
adult: 50-60
mature:60-70
getting on up there:70-75
senior citizen:75-80
elderly:80+
Being a senior citizen (according to my scale) means not only getting discounts and an AARP membership, but also means that you are finally really retired and concentrating on yourself. Being elderly means you are slowly losing your firm grip on reality.
P.S. I am one of those older students, but if a professor said that I am a teen, it's no skin off my back!
And no, age isn't just a number. None of us can live forever. Everyone matures at a different rate. So what if it takes until 80?

My opinion: Young adult is 20 to 30; adult is 30 to 40; middle age is 40 to 60 and senior is 60 on up. And there is a huge difference between being a senior and being elderly!
Seniors are at the top of the heap, just like in high school. They have choices to make that are just as difficult- who do I want to be, what do I want to do, what are my gifts and what should I do with them? Elderly people have lived their lives and see no future or ability to give of themselves to those around them.
