Wikipedia is essentially trustworthy for any information that you need. It is not a citation-worthy reference, but as a tool it is very good.

I might as well be the only person too try and defend Wikipedia, so here goes.

I think Wikipedia is fantastic, PC Pro (a computer magazine) tested it a while a go, They created an article with some small errors and within a few hours the errors had been corrected! So that seems pretty good considering its a completely free resource.

So yes, i think that information on wikipedia can be trusted for its authenticity

The articles on wikipedia are written & edited by the general public.

Rather like the answers you get on here.

I'd like to think that most subjects are written by well-informed people that know what they're talking about, however, I'm sure that there are inconsistencies in some of the "facts" on there.

I tend to employ an amount of common sense when reading anything on there. Don't take everything as gospel, but don't think the whole lot is just one big pack of lies.

That depends on what you are reading about. If the article is about something that some people will probably have different opinions about (like a movie), there might be some bias mixed in with the info. If the article's about history or past events that is mostly common knowledge (like "Susan B. Anthony is on the siver dollar") than most of the info will more likely be true. That is my opinion.

You cannot trust the reliability of anything on the internet; Wikipedia is especially bad because people can edit it over and over.

Simply: no. But usually it's good enough. People are keeping it reasonably up-to-date most of the time. However, I did read that the Huang River was in Adam Sandlers Belly Button, so...
