Right, I don't drink, tried it a few times but It doesn't appeal at all to me. I just "don't get it", so to speak. But the thing is Im going to Uni and nearly EVERYONE else drinks. Im just wondering, Im not gonna be left out or anything am I? Seems all the universities are advertising their bars as their main "social" attraction.

Yeah I totally feel the same way. I think the whole thing is so overdone as a part of uni life. Youre supposed to drink a lot and get wasted when the fact is that just relaxing with one or two beers is much more enjoyable. Just use the extra time when all your friends are having hangovers to study or spend time to yourself. After college people have real jobs so the pressure to get wasted isn't really there anymore.

I think a lot of universities and their surrounding areas advertise their bars because so many students use them. But, I think you'll find a lot of things to do socially that don't depend on booze. I think you'll find a lot of things to do that don't have to do with drinking. If you are with people who are, just say you don't drink, but don't make judgments on those who do and sip away on your soda or whatever. You will find other either moderate or non drinkers to hang with.

You don't have to drink to have fun. Just tell everything you get "drunk" watching people drink and making fun of them :) The other good thing is you will be a great designated driver-everyone will want to be your friend:) You can have soooo much fun watching all your friends get drunk and make fools of themselves while helping to keep them safe.
