I myself think it goes againsdt itself and the limits would eventually be corrupt. But does anyone have a detailed opinion?

And I would VERY much like if you did what my question said and gave me a source. That is what I am really looking for.

There is no such thing as unlimited freedom of speech in any democracy. Limits have to be put in place to maintain order, to create equality of opportunity and to preserve human rights.

I think the second amendment guarantees the first.
Or to misquote Mao: "Free speech flows from the barrel of a gun."
Free speech is Freedom's canary in the coal mine.
The first victim of Political Correctness is Truth,
The second victim is Freedom.

Freedom of speech where it hurts someone should be limited. Like those immoral church people protesting the war at a funeral of a soldier while the family was crying.
The first amendment sais you are free to bring grievances (complaints) against your the government. It does not mean you can slander individual citizens.

I'm not a big fan of censorship, because then the people in power are more tempted to control what the general population sees and hears, allows them to spread propaganda more effectively, etc.
I also do not need a book or a website to give me my own opinion.

Stanley Fish "There's no such thing as free speech... and it's a good thing" EXCELLENT book about philosophy and law of free speech.
And az grande is exactly correct. There are many limits to free speech, I have no problem with most of them as they are in the US.

Opinions don't have to have a backing. Your asking what a person thinks, which can come from their life experiences.
If you want a list of books on first amendment topics, may I suggest looking in your local library?
