What is a good excuse to go visit my female neighbor? She typically takes a day off work evry couple of weeks and sits in her basement watching TV. I want to go over and keep her company but I need an excuse to ring the doorbell.

ring the doorbell. She answers.
"hi"
"hey, I'm not sure if you know, but I live next door."
"no, I didn't know that...I'm usually in the basement"
"well, I was wondering if you could do me a favor?"
"sure"
"I'm expecting a package tommorow but, I'll be away from the house all day, would you mind watching for it so it doesn't get stolen?"
"sure, that's no problem"

Now you can go back in 2 days, to check on the package and at the same time visit her again.
Or, then next day you can put a package on your door step,
with a note that says knock on my door.
You wait inside, and she knocks on your door.
You open it, say thanks for visiting...and invite her in.
now you know your neighbor.

By a basket of cheese and crakers and go over and tell her hey I bought two of these the other day and Ijust thought you might like one. And then when she says o thank you and opens the door what a nice house you have it is really nice may I come in and admire it. And so on and so forth. Ask where she is from. Make conversation.

Just go over there with a good movie & ask if she minded some company. Women hate games, even though they play them a lot. If not, wear some loose jogging pants, get yourself nice and somewhat firm, then knock on her door and ask if she has any sugar or flour. Good luck.

If you run into her outside, ask her if she wants to get together the next time she has a day off. Be direct.

One other thing...how do you know she is watching tv in her basement??

Why do you need an excuse. Just talk one day, show that you have something in common and then break out the wine and chill out. Before one of you leaves, mention that it will be cool to hang again.

Since you are in the married section, I'm hoping you aren't already married. ...but something like, "I heard you needed your pipes snaked" would gain you some big points. Or...you could invite her over to your place for a home-cooked meal and movie. Hope you can cook. Happy hunting.

Don't use an excuse, thats corny! Just tell her you stopped by to talk for a bit, see how she is doing.

Say if you've been working out and you need a 2nd opinion on your results.

You could tell her about a great dvd movie and see if she wants to watch it.

Knock on her door and ask if you could trim the bush near her bedroom window so you can have a better view from your place.
