LOL Wow! Put people on the spot here!
Ummm...to me, they are two different types of love. When it comes down to who comes first, that really would depend on the situation. If it's life-threatening? Kids...because I would hope that another adult could fend for his/herself while the kids were being saved. I guess you would really have to be in a situation to measure the urgency too.

This is a difficult question. I have 2 children, a boy and a girl. I love both and my wife tremendously and for each the love is different. Right now my kids need and demand more from both me and my wife. That doesn't mean I don't love my wife any less, but it may appear by some of my actions that I love my wife less.
Who comes first...if its like the airplane that has turbulence and the masks drop, who do you help first...I'd help my kids if they weren't able to help themselves. Again, that doesn't mean less love, you just help the one who needs it the most.
There will hopefully be a point in mine and my wife's marriage when the kids are grown and its just her and I again and we'll be back to always putting each other first.
I hope this gave you at least some insight to the way this guy thinks!

As well, and more common, "Wives? Do you love your children and put them in more importance than you husband?"
It works for both.
Children should NEVER be first in a marriage. When you hear a wife or husband always say "my children; my daughter; my son", be cautious.

It's a totally different love.
A wife can cheat on you and love can turn into something different; but a child will always be a child...

No, of course not. They all tug at my heart strings, though differently. However, until the kids are grown, obviously, they have the priority in our lives. Once they are on their own, I'll finally have my wife all to myself again. Mmmmmm!

I'd hope any father would choose his child. If my man were to say anything different than our child, there would be hell to pay. Her life is just beginning, therefore has more potential. He'd better save her and raise her to be a wonderful woman.

I love mykids with all of my heart, but I also love my wife with all of my heart. The love you have for your kids is different from that you have for your wife. No I don't love them more than her, but I don't love her more than her. They are my world, together they make me whole.

I believe that your spouse comes before the children. That's how you got them to to begin with.
