Looking to find a pattern to make a dress like Annie (in the musical): http://www.theatricalanimals.com/annie.jpg

Would love for it to be one that's currently available in stores!

Thanks!

If you'd settle for something in the general ballpark, see

McCall's 5870 was one of the Annie patterns, but it's out of print

I think of the original illustrations and fashion usages. The white collar and cuffs would have either been detachable so they could be laundered separately or they might have been the visible portion of a lower layer of clothing, with the red layer being an overdress. The underdress would shield the overdress from normal wear/oil at the neckline and sleeves as preclude necessity for a separate slip. The white belt is separate and may buckle in front or in back. Back buckling looks tidier, but it uncomfortable when seated in a chair with a back.

It should be easy-enough to find suitable patterns for an overdress and for an underdress (maybe just lengthening the hem of a shirt and shortening the sleeves).
