I have a fireplace but have not used it in years. I plan to buy the rod-iron tea candle holder and put in my fire place this Christmas. Our fireplace was built with a defect by the previous owner, and if you use it, it will work for a while but then the smoke drifts into the house instead of up the chimney.

I don't have a fireplace here in London It would be nice, but I have a cottage in Wales in the middle of no-where and I have a wood burning stove. It is great! It heats the whole house and there is nothing better than going for a walk in the countryside and coming back to a lovely glowing fire. I try to get fruit wood if I can to put on it, as it smells so good and love to roast chestnuts and toast marshmallows.

We have a wood burning fireplace we used to use it all the time but it only heats up downstairs, so now we just use the heater. I will be moving to San Francisco next year when I go to school and we have an extremely small looking fireplace in our Victorian. I don't know if it is functional or not because we never used it when we lived there, but I was planing on doing the same thing with the candle holder in the fireplace.

I have 2 wood burning fireplaces..The living room one has an insert and the family room has a large round glass free standing fireplace.. We usually turn the heater on in the morning for an hour or so to take the chill off, then about 2:00pm if it is getting cool one or both fireplaces are lit..sometimes it gets so warm we have to open the window or door..

We have a real fireplace and we use real wood! The problem around her is that we have "burn days". They announce on the radio whether or not you are allowed to use the fireplace. Our next door neighbors don't care! They use a wood stove which makes the whole neighborhood smell like a fireplace.

That's too bad daisymae. Can't you get it repaired?
I have always wanted a real fireplace especially at Christmas.

My last home had a gas fireplace and although it looked real and gave warmth the crackling noises and smell of wood burning was absent.

We have a real fireplace, but we've lived in the house 24 years and have never used it. We won't, either, until it's been inspected and cleaned, which means never.

The living room is 25'x12' and the fireplace is at one end. The furniture has its back to the fireplace to facilitate easy conversation.

The dimensions of the room are better suited to a corridor!

2 of our boys had the real deal fireplace burning wood. Wood became so expensive so they changed to gas. Still nice but not like the lovely smell of burning wood. We live in a condo. If we were in a house, we'd have to have a wood burning stove. I would love that!!
You are wise not to use it. It needs to be fixed first because you
don't want smoke poisoning.

We have a wood-burning fireplace and have never used it as well. Our house was one of the model houses in this development and it was the contractor who put the fireplace. But, this is South Florida, who needs a fireplace in South Florida?? We bought five of those huge candles with multiple wicks and light them up when we have guests. Not only they look nice, the fragrance is wonderful.

We have a gas log fireplace, it's one of the reasons we bought this place. We've never had it hooked up though, we were just talking about that yesterday. lol I love sitting around a fireplace.
