Question: Do you agree with the letter I sent to YA?
Question Details: To whom it may concern, I am writing to request the re-instatement of two YA accounts that have wrongly been suspended. Brian, our Top Politics Answerer has been suspended and so has Suthrnlyts. This is ridiculous. Both these people provide thoughtful and informative posts and are not abusive in anyway, shape or form. They were targeted by people who simply want to see them gone because they disagree with them. I know I speak for many when I say they need their suspensions lifted. YA needs to look at its abuse policy and make some changes. May I suggest the following; 1. If you have less than 250 points you can't report abuse. Many people who report abuse have very low points and are just there to cause trouble. 2. It takes two accounts reporting abuse on one post for the violation to stick. This way one person can't go on a report abusing parade. 3. If the post does not contain foul language and does not demean any other YA poster it does not qualify for abuse. YA is losing many good people because if it's misguided policies on Abuse. Give free speech a chance! Penelope

A very smart guy named "commanderbuck383" made the suggestion that people should be able to see who accused them of violating Yahoo guidelines.
This is brilliant!
Right now, certain unprincipled, scared, gutless Libs hide behind a coat of anonymity. They are cowards. They know they can't win on the merits of their weak, hypocritical arguments because.... oh, let's face it, Conservatives are much more persuasive an eloquent. This is not just some self-satisfied, conceited opinion; just look at the ratings of talk radio and FOX News. Liberals simply don't have much of interest to say. Hence, their ratings are abysmal.
Let's really ramp up the pressure. There is absolutely no doubt that the Liberals in Yahoo are trying to get rid of the Conservatives on this site. They just can't stand us; we are like a splash of cold water in their faces. They prefer to live in a warm, cozy, dream world existence where everyone agrees with them.
If anyone disagrees with me, that is fine. My email address is not only posted proudly for everyone to see, it is also my Yahoo name. For once have the courage not to hit and run.

Technically someone could argue you didn't answer the question( do you agree). I believe you did because saying well done is an answer to the question if you agree. Appeal this violation, make the argument and get your points back. I'm convinced if you're answer had started with yes you wouldn't even have received the violation. I'm guessing it's a violation for not an answer but the case can be made you did answer the question asked. This is worth an appeal. Unlike some think yahoo aren't bullies and they try to be fair. Good luck

Well the rant was definitely a violation of the Yahoo TOS, especially if it was posted in the Politics section.
It should have been posted in the Yahoo Answers Forum.
People need to understand, Yahoo does not have employees who read every question posted in Yahoo Answers.
Thats why Yahoo has the Yahoo Answers Forum.
The link to it, is on the top right hand corner of the page.
.
If your answer was deleted , the " well done! "
The only violation I can see, is you didn't answer the question asked.
Whick was " do you agree.............. "
Your answer didn't agree or disagree with the question asked.
.
I do happen to agree with the origional question when it come to making people be atleast level 3 or 4, before they can report abuse.
That sounds like a good idea.
.
Now for the bad news,
This question you just ask, violates the Yahoo TOS.
It is posted in the wrong section.
It should have been posted in the
"Yahoo Products" ......... " Yahoo Answers " section.
.
Posting questions in the wrong section, is a violation of the Yahoo Answers TOS.
Your question had nothing to do with " Politics "
Don't worry, I didn't report you.

The same thing happened to me this morning Question: Math help please? So I clicked on it the problem was as follows: X(x-3/x-4)+4=(3x/x)(10/x-2)x)+4(4/x)=(... (x-2)/x-2=(2/x+2) Seriously so I answered: WOW Are you kidding me?that's hard. I received the same ridiculous violation and I sent appeal to my violation also. I agree with your suggestions and I further ask them to investigate the person reporting answers after their third report to stop the real abusers.

I could understand if it was considered to be 'not an answer' or 'chatting', but seriously. Look at any of the questions in the Politics section. They all have agreements and oppositions that may not constitute an answer, but that itself becomes the answer.

Because you had the audacity to question the judgement of the Yamster, who will probably be showing up at your door any moment to take you to Yahoo's Gulag, which is located in the northern part of beautiful China. There you can spend time talking Politics with all the dissidents Yahoo has helped China track down and imprison.

How interesting that so many who respond claim that their question or response was deleted due to the liberal mafia. I have had several questions and answers deleted because they were too slanted and considered liberal propaganda or were anti-Bush.
I guess we all get hit. The experience of an immediate thumbs down looks like targeting and I too have had this experience.

Part of the TOS is a clause that says Yahoo can make up rules as they please when they please.
So the published Rules are not the only rules.
However CA does have a Law the Corporations must publish all their By Laws and rules and make them available to the public.

there is a board for complaints.
yahoo answers usa seems to
have only a robot staff for email.
it is not politics - just besides.
- the next violation notice
could sure have reasons.
