Beyond a shadow of a doubt, it is "Night of the Living Dead." I think I fell in love with George Romero on the day I bought my tattered old VHS copy of this black and white classic. I'm still upset that George rejected my marriage proposals in fact. :P
But seriously, the lines in that movie and the deliciously horrid acting make it simply unforgettable. I remember the first time I watched it, I sat at the end feeling so sorry for the poor black guy who so valiantly struggled the entire movie to survive against these bloodthirsty fat zombies in burial boxer shorts, only to have a couple dimwitted deputies mistake him for a zombie and shoot him to death. I felt SO bad for him. And then my warped sense of humor kicked in, delicioulsy soaked up the irony, and I fell on the floor laughing uncontrollably. I watched that movie 4 times the first day I owned it. Each time was better than the last. I LOVE that movie, and I can only hope to one day accomplish for someone else what George Romero accomplished for me.

Any of the King Kong movies. Even the original which goes farther back than the 40s. I always identified somehow with King Kong (no it wasn't the hair on the back).

Frankenstein........Scary, even though I know I can out run him. I guess it goes back to the dreams where your being chased and your legs won't move.
